  • "This is only my second time going to this dentist but I absolutely love them! I have been trying to find a dental clinic that I love in Sioux Falls-it took me almost 4 years, but I finally found my hidden gem! The people are always so nice and always willing to explain to you exactly what is going on. "

  • "I have yet to encounter a member of your staff that isn't smiling, helpful and friendly. I feel my exam and cleaning is very thorough and the dentists all seem very easy to talk to and take time to answer questions. I always have a great experience..for a dental visit anyway :)"

  • "I don't like going to the dentist but going to Great Plains Dental has changed my mind. The hygienist have been amazing and very gentle with cleaning my teeth. Everyone has been very welcoming and kind. They also did amazing with my twin 2 year old daughters. I was so nervous taking them, but they kept the girls entertained and comfortable during the exams. Dental Health and Wellness

Your dental health is important to Great Plains Dental.  Brushing your teeth and flossing, along with regular dental examinations, can prevent most dental diseases.

A few key  health tips include:

  • Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste
  • Floss your teeth once a day
  • Replace your toothbrush every three to four months
  • Schedule regular dental check-ups

Many  systemic  diseases may first display symptoms in your mouth.  Swollen gums, mouth ulcers, dry mouth and other gum problems may also   be an indication of other health-related problems. This can include diabetes, cancer, heart disease and more. Regular visits to your dentist allows them to monitor changes in your mouth and helps to diagnose potential health problems in the early stages.

For further information, the American Dental Association has created the   Mouth Healthy website which provides a variety of information about dental health.
